Soon to come though, at some point I want to switch away from WordPress and build this site on PyroCMS. PyroCMS is build on Codeigniter, which I love and know try well. So maybe I can build some plugins for it after I switch over. I’m also learning Backbone.js and Node.js so that should be interesting. Eventually I’ll post code also.

Before the uprising in Libya, even though it is part of the Marine Corps Hymn, I really doubt most Marines knew were Tripoli was located. ‘To the shores of Tripoli’ in the Marine Corps Hymn stems from the Battle of Derne. It is the first recorded land battle fought overseas by the United States. It was after this battle that 1st Lt. O’Bannon was presented the Mameluke sword, which is still worn by Marine officers today.

More Marines are aware that ‘The Halls of Montezuma’ is from the Battle of Chapultepec, only because it is from this battle that we get the blood stripe that NCOs wear to commemorate the Marines that died during this battle. I doubt most Marines know that the Battle of Chapultepec was fought during the Mexican-American War were US forces fought Mexican forces holding Chapultepec Castle located west of Mexico City.

In other words it disables your CSS for for a 24 hour period in order to promote web standards.

I forgot that yesterday was CSS Naked Day. So when I went to my site, I was pissed that my site was jacked up. My first thought was that my site was hacked. The styling was gone but all of the content was there. Which didn’t make sense why a hacker would do that. That I realized what happened.

That was my first CSS Naked Day that I participated in. It was pretty cool. Click on the image to see a screenshot of my site during CSS Naked Day. Also, a “thank you” goes to Aja Lupas for creating the WordPress CSS Naked Day plugin that I used.
